WorkflowFirst Professional

WorkflowFirst Professional edition is recommended for serious use of WorkflowFirst on your own private network.

You can install the unregistered version of WorkflowFirst Professional from this location: http://myworkflowfirst.com/installs/setup_wffpro_1_0.exe.

WorkflowFirst Professional requires a Microsoft SQL Server or SQL Server Express installation to store its data. You may already have SQL Server Express installed, but if not it can be downloaded from here (any version will work).

Once WorkflowFirst Professional is installed and first accessed, it will automatically create the connection to the Microsoft SQL Server, and create the database and all the necessary configuration required to use the system.

Note: When installing SQL Server manually, WorkflowFirst requires that the default settings are adopted when SQL Server is installed: the instance name must be called SQLExpress, it must be running on the same machine as WorkflowFirst, and Windows authentication must be enabled. Unless you deliberately change the setup settings, or have a pre-existing installation of SQL Server, you shouldn't have to worry about this. To change where WorkflowFirst Designer looks for its SQL Server, place a sqlserver.cfg file in the WorkflowFirstPro\Files folder, as described here. This will let you override the database server name, database name and other settings.

Before proceeding, it's highly recommended that you upgrade to the latest version of WorkflowFirst. The upgrade instructions can be found here, and you can find out the latest version to install by checking the top release posted here. When you are ready, you can proceed to register the application by following the instructions here.
