Adding a Field

The Quick Entry field (see below) is a convenient alternative to clicking the Create New button ( + ). It allows you to set up a model quickly so you will have a general idea and a quick visual of what your application will look like before going into the details.

If you type in a field name in the Quick Entry section and then press Enter, it will create a field but with default values for all of the settings. You can also select the type of the field. Once you create the field, you can still edit the entry some more by clicking the pencil icon at the end of the row.

You can also add and set up fields by click on the Create New button ( + ). You'll see a pop-up window like this:

As you can see, there are additional settings for the fields. We'll discuss these settings in more details as we move along through the guide.

Tip : Another way to get to the Quick Entry line is to press either Ctrl+Q or Alt+Q, depending on your web browser.

Another Tip : You can create your own Quick Entry lines simply by switching the Quick Entry setting from No to Yes on the field. We'll discuss this later on in the guide.

There are a few tips worth keeping in mind when entering fields using the Quick Entry, and we'll go over them in the next topic.
