Kanban Board View

WorkflowFirst provides a way to view your lists using the popular Kanban-style of layout.

This style of view, used by services such as Trello, lets you easily view lists of records as cards categorized by state or any other dropdown field in the record.

In addition to viewing the records, you can also edit the record by clicking the pencil icon, or view other actions by clicking the dropdown arrow at the end of the card. If the state field is editable, you can also drag the card from one category to another using the mouse.

If adding new records is enabled, then a "Add Entry" link will appear at the bottom of each group.

To add this to your tabs you go to Features under your type, and then you set Kanban Board View to Yes, and add a record in Kanban Options under that. There you will select the field that is used to source the title for each column section, along with a secondary field that will display at the bottom of the card. If an inline preview field is set, that will appear in gray under the record title. If you want the Kanban board to replace the regular data view, set Default to Yes.

As well as the title, inline preview and secondary field, assignments (for the logged-in user) are indicated by a red bell icon on each card. The card can be clicked to go to the associated record.

The Kanban Board has also been optimized for mobile. Currently the mobile view of the Kanban display does not allow dragging, but items can still be edited by tapping the edit icon.

You can also enable a Kanban view for workflows. Just edit the Workflow record and set "Show Kanban View" to Yes. This will then show a kanban view of your workflow, with each group of cards corresponding to a workflow state.
