Using Multi-Tenancy

Once the multi-tenancy is setup, when users login the list of records they will see on each tab should change: it will now be filtered by only those they are authorized to view.

This can have many consequences, especially for dropdown lists (for example, dropdowns from lists in the Configuration tab).

You may find that you need to assign existing records to be visible by specific users. You'll notice an action, available only to administrators, called "Add Org Unit To This Item" that lets you select a user. It will then look at that user's org unit subscriptions and make sure that the selected record will be visible to everyone who has the same subscriptions (or a parent org unit subscription). This can be useful for migrating older records that existed prior to enabling the multi-tenancy.

You can also assign multiple items at once, by selecting multiple items. Then the "Add Org Unit To Selection" button will appear at the bottom, where you can select the user whose org units should be applied to all selected items. Keep in mind you can also perform a "Select All" from the dropdown arrow at the top of the list to apply it to all entries. This may be especially useful for long lists used in dropdowns that you want to be viewed by everyone.
