Navigating Around the Designer

When you start using WorkflowFirst, you'll need to get used to navigating around your application configuration.

There are five main areas you'll be navigating around:

 1. Your application settings record

 2. An "application tab" definition

 3. The main field definitions under the application tab

 4. The workflow (and flowchart designer) that is underneath the application tab

 5. The fields selected in each workflow stage

We'll go through how you navigate between these.

To get to your application settings record in WorkflowFirst Designer, just click on the Applications tab at the top:

 ...then select your application.

At the bottom of the application settings, you'll see the list of application tabs in your app.

Click on one of those application tabs to see the main field definitions of all the fields in that tab:

You can click one of those field definitions to see the field's details or to edit it (using the pencil icon).

From the application tab definition, you can get to the workflows defined under that, by clicking on the Workflows tab (if you have no workflows, just click the Add Workflow button to add one):

Click on one of those workflows listed to get to the workflow designer for that workflow:

Now notice the application navigation bar (also called a "breadcrumb") at the top - this is very useful for going back to a different place in your app configuration:

Right now, though, click one of the stages in the workflow and you'll see the details of that stage, including the list of fields that will be collected for that stage. You can add new fields by clicking "+" at the top of the list, or edit or remove them using the icons at the end of each row:
