Hiding Fields Until They're Set

Workflow in WorkflowFirst refers to stages or actions that gradually fill up a record with values that are entered by the user.

Sometimes, though, you don't want to see those fields until they have a value set. Luckily WorkflowFirst has a feature to help with that.

If you go to the field definition, under that there'll be a Flags area. Add a flag called "Hide If Unset". Then after you publish you'll notice that the field won't show to the user unless it has a value.

The same can be applied to Form type fields (nested forms), where the drilldown links to get to the form will be hidden unless they're set.

Note, though, for regular fields the value will be hidden if it doesn't have a value OR if the value equals the default value. You can set the default value in the "Default Value" setting in the field definition. Keep in mind that if it's a dropdown value you need to put the internal name - that is, the name without any spaces.
