While WorkflowFirst will create a user interface for you, for some applications this style of interface may not be appropriate. If you are creating a consumer-facing application, or perhaps an informational web page, you will likely need to create a custom HTML page as an alternative to the interface that WorkflowFirst creates for you. However, just because you need to create a custom HTML front-end does not mean that you cannot use the rich functionality of WorkflowFirst. By enabling an option called 'Primarily Web Mode', you can provide custom HTML pages that incorporate DbfScript to provide a richer and more specific interface while simultaneously utilizing the full functionality offered by WorkflowFirst. These type of applications are referred to as 'web mode' applications. Examples of web-mode applications built with WorkflowFirst include the WorkflowFirst home page. 

Even though web mode applications will have custom HTML pages that are presented to the user, there will also be the traditional WorkflowFirst interface for managing the data that populates the web page. This WorkflowFirst style interface will only be accessible, though, to administrators. Regular users will not be able to access those pages.
