Creating and Editing Type Definitions

WorkflowFirst makes it so easy to design and create whole applications. You can add types and field definitions in those types, rearrange them as many time as you like or delete them. If you don't like the way your application look, you can just scrap it and start anew.

The first step is to get to your application configuration screen. If it's not already open, you can go to the WorkflowFirst Designer page and select your application from the list under the Applications tab.

From there you can see the data model (highlighted in yellow) below the auto-expands section of the application record where you'll see a label titled Applications Tab. Below is an example screenshot.

If you want to focus on the data model, you can either click on the Model link (*only available in WorkflowFirst Professional Edition),the Applications Tabs button, or select "Model" from the Drilldown Menu (Hamburger icon).

Whether you're editing types or fields, the editor is similar. But what makes types more important than field definitions is that this list of types is used to determine the tabs at the top of your application.

Tip: If you want a type in this list but do not want it to appear as a tab, then you need to set the Visible setting of the field to No

Another Tip : You can easily change which tab is selected when you first access the application. By default the first tab will be selected. You can change this in the Application configuration, under Startup View

Because editing types and field definitions is pretty much the same, refer to the next section on "Creating and Editing Field Definitions" for more information.
