Publishing the Application

Before the newly created application can be used, it must be published. This effectively creates the application output that can be run by the users. You can do this at any point.

There are 3 ways to publish your application:

  • Quick Publish button (as noted in the example below). This button is displayed anywhere in the WorkflowFirst Designer.

  • Publish button. This button is displayed only on the application configuration page.

  • What's Next menu. This dropdown menu is found anywhere in the WorflowFirst Designer and applications. You can select either Quick Publish or Publish in the dropdown menu.

If you click the Publish button, this will bring up the "Publish" pop-up window (as seen below) and you can optionally add information or select other options before clicking OK (the other options are described in a later section).

When it has finished publishing the application, it will display a blue information bar similar to this:

Depending on the complexity of the application, this should only take a few seconds to complete.

After it has finished publishing, click the given link (see blue information bar) and the application will open in either a new browser or browser tab.

Below is an example of the published application, and it should look pretty familiar. It uses the common web-interface as the WorkflowFirst Designer. Your new application will also show a default logo and color theme, but that can be changed at any time.

Without additional changes, the new application, by default, will display 3 tabs: Dashboard, Users, and Configuration. As you customize your application, more tabs will be added for more important application data.
